The only reason it’s considered a plague is it makes the clan extremely easy to point out in a crowd. Ginny is actually quite pleased with her red hair, always having a devil may care attitude when it came to her appearance. The freckles sprayed over her face weren’t bothersome either. While they didn’t make her unique in her family, she always felt that they gave her face personality. Not a very tall girl, she is lean and muscular, kept in shape by so many brothers. Some would say her often slight frame is from her parents’ inability to feed their children, but this is just Ginny’s natural frame. She is healthy, not malnourished. Her eyes are a piercing blue (Brown in canon, but for the use of PB they are blue), a blue that changes with her mood, and some say the weather. Personality: Having grown up with Fred and George as two of her older brothers, Ginny naturally developed a thick skin and a desire for mischief. As the baby and only girl, she was not only spoiled, as well as her parents could spoil her, but she was fiercely protected by all of her brothers. At times this could be incredibly annoying and while at school she would sometimes be pushed to the point where she wanted to hex their behinds back to before they were born. At home, she could run to her mother. That was, of course, when she was younger. Before everything happened. Her time being possessed by Tom Riddle was definitely something that deeply affected Ginny. It made her quieter and reserved, less likely to trust people she didn’t know. It also made her a fighter. Knowing how she had stood back and allowed something to powerful and evil to take control of her body and mind was sickening to her. She is now the type of girl who will quietly stand up for herself, who will plan an attack behind your back, who would be leading the DA with Harry gone. She still likes to play her jokes, but the darker world around her has changed her. Having given her heart away, and to have, in a sense, lost it, has been hard on her. Ginny can’t seem to allow herself to be fully happy while her family and friends are in danger, and while Harry’s life hangs in the balance. Personal History: Growing up a Weasley was never easy. Not only were the Weasleys' easily identified by their signature freckles and flaming red hair, but most people could point them out because the children were normally seen wearing hand me down robes and books and clothing. As more and more Weasleys were born the less able Molly and Arthur were able to provide the most recent gadgets for their children. Not that they cared much. Sure, being picked on because of a hole in your school robes was never fun, but they had each other and had loving parents, what more could they ask for? Ginny was born the seventh and final Weasley and the first girl in generations. This put her in a very interesting situation. She would either be picked on constantly by the older boys in her family or they were being, in her opinion, overprotective. But in the end she loved her brothers no matter what they did to her. They were family and that was what was most important. Ginny entered Hogwarts in 1992, the last Weasley to be sorted by the sorting hat. She was placed in Gryffindor to her family's great pleasure. How could she not be? The young eleven year old was fearless and headstrong; a spitfire molded especially by her twin brothers Fred and George. The first year at Hogwarts is normally challenging but for Ginny it would turn out to be even harder. She didn't realize that suddenly whole chunks of time were missing from her days that things were happening that she couldn't account for. It wasn't until she found herself revived in the Chamber of Secrets that she realized something had gone terribly wrong. It was probably then that Ginny knew for sure that she had feelings for Harry. Sure she had always had a crush on him since she'd met him but now she could feel that crush growing into something deeper. He had risked his own life to save hers. He could have died but he had done it anyway. He could have turned on her knowing it was because of her the Chamber had been opened, but he didn't. Her second year passed without much going on in her personal life but there was the school wide worry about the escaped Sirius Black and the potential that he would come to Hogwarts looking for Harry. Of course this put the entire school on high alert and the atmosphere was depressing as the school was patrolled and guarded by the dementors who were constantly looking for Black to take him back to Azkaban and deliver the Dementor's kiss on him. She secretly wanted to kill Draco Malfoy herself when he and his sidekicks constantly made fun of Harry for going weak around the Dementors. Her third year saw the arrival of the Triwizard Tournament at Hogwarts. She, along with her best friend Hermione, swooned over Viktor Krum and the other burly yet handsome men of Durmstrang. She also wondered what power the girls of Beaubaxton had over the boys including Harry. She wanted him to look at her the way he looked at those girls, but she figured he never would. She was younger than him and his best friend's sister, so she gradually gave up. She watched in horror as Harry attempted to stay alive during the tournament and wept as he returned with Cedric Digory's body. Her tears of horror were mixed, however, with tears of joy that Harry had returned alive. And with his safe return came the knowledge that Voldemort had returned to full power. Ginny's fourth year brought with it the return of the Order of the Phoenix. For the majority of the summer holiday Ginny and her family spent their time cleaning out Twelve Grimmauld Place and making it hospitable for the headquarters of the Order. She was overjoyed to see Harry again, but he was a changed boy. He was darker, quieter. After her father was attacked while on duty for the Order she reminded Harry that they had something in common; both of them had been used by Voldemort. Her fourth year not only brought the perils of once again living in a world where Voldemort could strike at any moment, but it also brought Dolores Umbridge, the worst possible Defense Against the Dark Arts professor, ever. Because of her, Ginny briefly played seeker when Harry was banned from the team. However, the woman was a blessing in disguise because without her lack of teaching, the DA, or Dumbledore's Army as she named it, would never have been formed. With Harry's help and tutelage, many of the students became proficient in DADA which helped many on their OWLs but also helped in the battle against the Death Eaters at the Department of Mysteries. There was no way Ginny was going to be left out of that mission. She was head strong and made sure that Ron and Harry knew she was going with them no matter what. Had she not broken her ankle she would have done everything she could to prevent the prophesy from breaking for Sirius from being killed. As it was she fought gallantly until she wasn't able to anymore. Her fifth year was yet another difficult year. It brought about all the blossoming feelings of teenage boys and girls. She watched her brother canoodle with Lavender and Hermione get more and more angry and frustrated. Her feelings for Harry were still there, however deep she buried them. She thought he looked at her with a different light, but she wouldn't let herself think otherwise. Harry was obsessed with finding out what Voldemort was up to next and he was convinced Malfoy had something to do with it. It would of course turn out to be true. During her fifth year Ginny played as chaser for the Gryffindor team and when they won the Quidditch Cup she got the best prize she could have asked for; Harry finally admitted his feelings by suddenly kissing her in front of everyone. They began officially dating soon after. It was the most fulfilling few weeks of her life, but it was not to last. With the death of Dumbledore Harry had to make a choice. He decided that her life was more important than his happiness with her and he let her go. She hated it but she had to let him do it. It is now her sixth year, and nothing is the same. Harry, Hermione and Ron are all absent from Hogwarts. Most believe that Hermione is hiding out, being a muggleborn and under intense scrutiny. Ron is home sick with the dragon pox, which Ginny herself of course knows is completely false. Ginny wants nothing more than to be fighting Voldemort’s people, but her family insists that she stay in school. From inside the walls of Hogwarts, Ginny and her friend Neville are forging ahead to keep Dumbledore’s Army ready to fight if the need presents itself.
